The Communications team is responsible for telling the Grab story around the world. Whether it's speaking to media and online influencers, policymakers, industry commentators, or the wider community, the Communications team is the voice of Grab.
The Communications team is a strategic partner and solution provider to various business functions in Grab. We help to drive their business objectives by ensuring that both internal and external stakeholders understand and support Grab’s vision and business strategy, including but not limited to corporate partnerships, new products, partner programmes, marketing campaigns, and internal programmes.
Get to know the role
The Public Relations Manager in Indonesia is a self-motivated and creative individual and has a passion for tech for good who will lead proactive public relations campaigns to promote and protect Grab’s brand and reputation in Indonesia.
The goal is to reinforce Grab’s position as the leading everyday super app in Indonesia and make Grab a relatable brand to our customers. He/She will have a strong understanding of the media landscape in Indonesia and will build and maintain relationships with key media contacts pivotal for the business.
The Day-to-Day Activities
Create, implement and manage communication strategies and planning that are in line with the company’s
vision and business objectives
Serve as an effective filter for the various business units in helping to determine the credibility, defensibility, and news value of Grab messages
Proactively develop campaigns and promote stories to profile Grab Indonesia
Build and maintain strong working relationships with the most influential regional and local media in Indonesia
Create content such as press releases, thought leadership articles, executive media briefings, and speeches for executives
Collaborate on content for digital channels
Organize and oversee media events
Effectively manage the response to incidents, issues, or crisis situations, and manage programmes to mitigate the negative impact of incidents affecting Grab
Manage our media and influencer advocacy program
Build and maintain strong working relationships with Grab business stakeholders and management
Analyze metrics to determine the output and value of PR results and use the data as a critical planning tool
Drive regular planning and reporting meetings with key stakeholders
Manage the PR agency according to the given budget and business requirements
The Must-Haves
6-8 years of experience in the PR field or related experience in high-profile corporate reputation management, public affairs, crisis communications, or issues management
Possess strong existing media relationships with editors, reporters, and thought leaders from different beats
Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams including government relations, legal, product, marketing, and partnership teams
Strong writing and storytelling skills
Excellent command of Indonesian and English (written and spoken)
Experience in public relations; in an agency preferred
Experience working in a fast-growth company and technology sector
A creative and collaborative self-starter who can work independently, hands-on team player, and self-motivated
