Job Purpose and Impact
The Sustainability Engagement Specialist will support the formal sustainability program activities and related compliance issues for the Indonesia palm oil business. In this role, you will work closely on the administration of sustainability programs, databases, monitor and report on performance and compliance, and provide training to suppliers in the implementation of Cargill’s Global Palm Sustainability Policy. You will coordinate with colleagues in the supply chain or business and sustainability teams and customers in multiple locations. Key Accountabilities
Develop innovative methods of monitoring sustainability performance and report information and data for compliance, customers and internal business requirements.
Verify supplier documents received against contract requirements to identify discrepancies and request completion of the data directly with supplier.
Coordinate engagement and communication within the team.
Coordinate trainings and provide support to farmers or suppliers in their area of expertise.
Provide support to the business or supply chain team on the regulations for the markets and advise suppliers and customers on program certifications and compliance.
Develop good relationships with suppliers and customers for sustainability related matters and data inquiries as appropriate.
Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in agricultural sector
Proven strong project execution skills under strict timelines
Self-starter
Meticulous in managing and processing quantitative and qualitative data
Proven stakeholder engagement record and strong influencing skills
Excellent communication and writing skills
Ability to operate in a multi-cultural environment
Willingness to local travel
Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in environmental engineering, environmental science or agriculture
Experience in plantation management is an advantage
Knowledge of GIS systems
Knowledge of High Carbon Stock Approach (HCS), Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil certification, and other palm related social and environmental international standards and guidelines
Experience in and passion for sustainability
