At Caterpillar’s Indonesia Batam, we manufacture Hydraulic Shovels products used in building the infrastructure and mining to move materials that makes a better world.
When you work as a EHS Supervisor at Caterpillar Indonesia Batam you will provide leadership, mentoring, and direction to hourly and salaried personnel to ensure employee health and the environment are protected. Conduct and supervise activities that ensure compliance with governmental regulations Indonesians Laws, Caterpillar EHS Assurance Manual and others International Standard such as OSHA. Typically manages Environmental, Health and/or Safety (EHS) activities at a small facility or one discipline at a medium to large facility.
As the EHS Supervisor, you will:
Support the EHS Manager and team with planning, coordinating and implementing of effective EHS policies, guidelines and procedures to ensure that the department objectives are met.
Provide support to Project and Operation team in all aspects of safety, occupational health, safety and environmental issues.
Support the EHS Manager in ensuring EHS compliance.
Provide support to the dept on the implementation of EHS Assurance Manual, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
Function as primary emergency coordinator for facility and assist Environmental Health & Safety Department with required governmental agency notifications as appropriate
Managing hourly EHS Staff/EHS Specialist and day to day daily EHS issue.
Perform regular EHS audits in the Caterpillar Indonesia Batam Facility.
Attend pre-job, planning and meetings as required.
Organize and Performs routine inspections and verify compliance on EHS related matters.
Supervise the teams and liaise with operation on the implementation of EHS Management System
Ensure training, tool box meetings, and drills are implemented as part of the company’s training and EHS program, i.e. emergency response systems, etc.
Assist the incident owner on the incident Investigation and complete the process for close out of all Accident Investigation Reports and prepare/submit lessons learned to the EHS Manager for promulgation to the management.
Track and provide regular EHS performance reporting to the EHS Manager.
Assist in the development of specific EHS procedures.
Ensure all worksites are EHS compliant with Company policies and safety standards.
Support and take lead of EHS Specialist in the development of work site EHS campaigns and good practices.
Assist in ad-hoc EHS tasks/projects as required.
The successful candidate must bring:
Proficient in English.
College or university degree in an engineering or-related discipline and equivalent.
At least 5 (five) years of work-related experience.
Strong leadership, problem-solving and analytical skills.
Thorough knowledge of various engineering, manufacturing and / or maintenance standards and practices and manufacturing systems.
Thorough knowledge of various safety best practices a safety technical standard.
Top candidates will also bring:
Have AK3 series (Government Safety Certifications).
Certified IOSH Managing safely and NEBOSH IGC will be preferable.
Good written and oral communication and presentation skills.
Good human relations, interpersonal and collaboration skills.
Additional Information
Shift: Regular Full Time 7.00 AM - 3.45 PM
Work location: Batam, Kepulauan Riau
You will work both in office and manufacturing shop-floor environment.
