Background

Impact Credit Solutions (“ICS”) d/b/a Nikel is a Singapore financial technology company that enables small business lending in Southeast Asia. We combine deep expertise in alternative lending with best-in-class technology solutions to bridge international capital markets with underserved communities in Southeast Asia. ICS has recently established an Indonesian entity that will house our credit-as-a-service (“CaaS”) technology as well as other Indonesian entity that will provide funding to support Indonesia’s healthcare system (collectively, the “Indonesian Entities”).

Role

To support our growth, we are looking for a legal and compliance associate to join our team in Jakarta. We are seeking candidates who have extensive knowledge of Indonesian laws, especially corporate law, and at least 1 - 2 years working experiences in the legal sector. We also want people who are detail oriented, independent and able to maintain good relationship with relevant authorities. The position will report functionally to the Group Head of Legal and Senior Legal Associate. Due to our nature as a start-up, he/she will also be required to do other things as may be required by the Indonesian Companies from time to time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Under the guidance and support from Head of Legal and Senior Legal Associate, to draft and review NDAs and commercial agreements
  • Provide administrative legal support for Head of Legal and Senior Legal Associate and propose recommendations based on and to comply with Indonesian applicable regulations
  • Assisting our Head of Legal and Senior Legal Associate with other legal matters as may be required, including licensing and/or registration matters
  • Carry out legal research in different areas of Indonesian law(s)
  • Fulfilling relevant reporting obligations to authorities such as BKPM and OJK
  • Preparing corporate resolutions for our Indonesian Entities
  • Advising management and other teams on possible legal and compliance risks of products/ services being developed or any ongoing or planned transactions
  • Liaising with relevant authorities and partners
  • Other responsibilities as may be required from time to time

Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law
  • Minimum 1 – 2 years’ experience in the legal sector (law firm or in-house) and having been involved in General Corporate, fintech transactions
  • Strong corporate law knowledge
  • Can work unsupervised and prioritize & accomplish tasks accurately and on a timely basis
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in an environment with high degree of volatility and uncertainty
  • Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia
  • Ability to communicate well with Indonesian officials
  • Ability to conduct legal research thoroughly
  • High initiative and independence while conducting the work
