Function
This role reports to Legal Counsel Indonesia sits in PT LKJ based in Jakarta
The subject matter expert provide advice, guidance inputs on compliance, regulatory and contractual issues to support Indonesia market growth. Brands include Guinness, Captain Morgan, Smirnoff, Gordon’s, Mr. Dowell’s, Gilbey’s etc.
About the Role
Acting as company secretary for PT LKJ, coordinate with Global IP counsel, Brand Protection Manager and other Global Subject Matter Experts.
This person need to bring Diageo leadership standards and purpose to life and actively promote initiatives internally to other employees and markets.
Be an effective and pragmatic legal and business advisor to the Indonesian management team by understanding the business closely and building great relationships with key stakeholders in both the Diageo business and third party relationships.
Minimize legal risk by early involvement in key projects, guiding resolution of issues and proactively creating an environment where risk is avoided.
Proactively lead the compliance agenda including providing training on key policies and maintain a rock-solid controls and compliance environment.
Support the teams on key projects and strategic initiatives.
Experience required/Skills/Capabilities/Languages
5+ year experienced lawyer, with experience at a leading law firm or relevant in-house experience.
Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills, easily interacting with others and being approachable.
Ability to work confidently and stand ground with senior managers.
Experience in handling compliance challenged markets.
Excellent interpersonal/communication skills, commercial / pragmatic approach and strong influencing / coaching skills.
Strong commercial law background, especially in the negotiation and documentation of commercial contracts.
Ability to work within the commercial environment and to identify business critical issues and prioritise workload to align with business needs.
Fluency in English and Indonesian Language.
