Project Coordinator (Jakarta-based)
DAI is seeking a part-time Project Coordinator to provide administrative support for the
USAID-funded ASEAN-USAID PROSPECT project focused on helping ASEAN achieve its
goal of building a more inclusive, rules-based, and prosperous Southeast Asia.
BACKGROUND
The five-year ASEAN-USAID PROSPECT program (August 2018 – August 2023) supports
ASEAN’s goal to build a more inclusive and prosperous Southeast Asia. Through provision of
technical expertise, PROSPECT provides institutional strengthening and support to increase
ASEAN’s capacity to better resolve regional and global challenges and advance an effective,
rules-based architecture for cooperation among governments in the region to uphold human
dignity and the rule of law.
One of PROSPECT’s flagship initiatives in 2021 was supporting ASEAN’s Committee on
Women (ACW) and Commission on the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Women
and Children (ACWC) to develop an institutional framework for mainstreaming gender—
the ASEAN Gender Mainstreaming Strategic Framework, or AGMSF—which was launched in
January 2022.
PURPOSE
In order to ensure that the initial operationalization of the AGMSF are collaboratively
implemented, PROSPECT is supporting the ASEAN Secretariat’s Poverty Eradication and
Gender Division (PEGD) in its efforts to coordinate with other divisions as well as ASEAN
Sectoral Bodies, Entities, ASEAN Member States, and development partners to ensure the
timely and effective implementation of the AGMSF.
OBJECTIVES AND DUTIES
Provide administrative support to ensure successful coordination on the implementation
of the AGMSF, specifically performing the following tasks:
o Provide administrative support to the technical consultant(s) in the drafting and
formulation of the AGMSF Implementation Plan;
o File management for ASEAN gender-related frameworks and documents (file
management) and maintain mailing lists of ASEAN Sectoral Bodies and ASEAN
partners;
o Research and draft information on AGMSF-related initiatives and coordinate with
ASEAN Secretariat’s Community Relations Division to regularly update the ASEAN
website on the AGMSF;
o Support coordination and follow-through on communications with ASEAN
Sectoral Bodies and ASEAN partners, promoting the wider “Community of
Practice;”
o Support the organization of relevant meetings and events (virtual and in-person),
including drafting administrative notes, drafting summary records and/or decision
points of meetings, and support logistical arrangements;
Provide a regular monthly report to the PROSPECT project on achievement of tasks and
deliverables under the assignment; and
Carry out other duties that are consistent with overall focus of the assignment.
The Project Coordinator will be based in Jakarta, Indonesia and be expected to work in the
ASEAN Secretariat building and work closely with PROSPECT staff and the ASEAN
Secretariat’s PEGD.
QUALIFICATIONS
University degree in Development Studies, Public Policy, and other relevant discipline
strongly preferred;
At least 2 years of proven experience working on regional cooperation and development
issues, including administrative knowledge of ASEAN-related matters;
Previous experience in working on gender-related issues is preferable;
Fluent in both written and spoken English;
Proven ability to produce reports, minutes of meetings and/or summary records;
Ability to facilitate meetings with multi-stakeholders, including government officials and
international partners; and
Must possess a high degree of accountability, responsibility, integrity, and respect for
diversity;
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage work under tight deadlines.
