Job description

In Indonesia, the growing Egis transportation team undertakes several upstream projects such as feasibility studies, masterplans, audits, operational planning, urban insertion, costing and others. It is responsible for the data collection, planning, analyses, definition, and mapping and investment plans of mass transit, non-motorized transportation (NMT) and transit-oriented development (TOD) projects.

The Environment & Transport Analyst works across a wide range of sustainable transport projects of tomorrow, within teams of international and national experts (team leader, senior experts, junior engineers, business manager). S.he participates to the completion of projects in several countries of South-East Asia, tackling technical, environmental, socio-economic challenges. The candidate is expected to be a generalist in the field of urban engineering, with sensitivity and understanding of transportation and environmental technical challenges. Curious and technical, s.he will cover the tasks described below, at certain levels of depth adapted to existing and developing capabilities.

The Environment & Transport Analyst undertakes the assigned tasks under the team leader and/or experts with agreed methods and guidance. Among the main tasks anticipated are:

  • Conduct corridor analyses: analysis of urban constraints, demographics, urban tissue, environmental threats
  • Environmental analyses: understand, adapt and apply general transportation environmental analyses, for (i) transport systems to environment (quantification and analyses of air, noise and ground pollution) and (ii) environment to transport systems (quantification and analyses of disasters mainly on flooding risks). S.he supports the specific and technical detailed assessment of designated experts.
  • Environmental modelling and resilience: possibly, she will build models for the analysis of environmental threats to the transport infrastructure and services to evaluate the criticality of risks and the vulnerability of infrastructure.
  • Punctual task – Methods: s.he is expected to compare and select methods of environment assessments related to transport with support of necessary experts.
  • Planning: s.he is expected to understand and apply general planning tools such as multi-criteria analyses and geographical information software among others.

Punctual task – Proposals: s.he is expected to support the preparation of proposals related to transport and environmental planning and resilience through the preparation of maps, analyses, redactions and presentations.

Profile

The requiremetns for this position are

  • Master from a reputable university in urban, transport or environmental engineering and planning or related fields.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills (verbal, written)
  • Ease with all regular office software (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) is required
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS and AutoCAD is desirable
  • A first relevant professional experience (1-3 years) is required
  • At least 1 experience in urban/transport/environment planning is required
  • Experience abroad is a strong advantage
  • English : it is required to master reading, writing and speaking
  • Indonesian, French: it is an advantage to master reading, writing and speaking
  • A responsible and accountable individual with a positive attitude
  • An organized individual with an attention to detail
