Responsibilities
- Greet every customer with a warm, friendly attitude and provide prompt, accurate checkout service.
- Handle cash, credit, and electronic payments efficiently while maintaining strict adherence to company cash‑handling procedures.
- Answer customer inquiries regarding product prices, ongoing promotions, and loyalty program benefits, directing them to additional assistance when needed.
- Collaborate closely with fellow store associates to ensure smooth operation of the checkout area, including bagging, stocking, and maintaining a tidy workspace.
- Perform basic math calculations to verify transaction totals, apply discounts, and issue correct change, double‑checking all figures for accuracy.
- Identify and resolve minor transaction issues (e.g., price mismatches, out‑of‑stock items) by communicating with the floor staff or manager.
- Support end‑of‑shift duties such as cash reconciliation, preparing deposit slips, and reporting any discrepancies to the shift supervisor.
- Uphold store policies related to security, loss prevention, and health & safety, including regular scanner and receipt printer checks.
- Participate in periodic training sessions to stay current on new POS features, product knowledge, and customer service standards.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent.
- Age: up to 26 years old.
- Open to all genders.
- No prior work experience required; a strong desire to learn retail operations is essential.
- Professional, tidy appearance and a positive demeanor.
- Basic math proficiency and keen attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills.
