Introduction

We are seeking a dedicated Professional Kitchen Assistant to join the dynamic team of our restaurant kitchen. This role is pivotal in ensuring that every dish leaving the kitchen meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and presentation. The successful candidate will work closely with chefs, line cooks, and service staff to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly clean and sanitize all food preparation areas, countertops, cutting boards, and equipment in accordance with established hygiene protocols.
  • Wash, sort, and store raw ingredients—including vegetables, fruits, poultry, and meat—ensuring proper temperature control and FIFO (first‑in, first‑out) rotation.
  • Assist in basic food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, slicing, and dicing under the direction of the chef.
  • Maintain spotless kitchen floors by sweeping, mopping, and promptly addressing any spills to prevent slip hazards.
  • Support inventory management by organizing deliveries, checking quantities, and updating stock logs.
  • Transfer ingredients from storage to the line promptly, following the chef’s specifications to keep service flowing smoothly.
  • Package takeaway orders accurately, labeling them correctly and ensuring they are ready for prompt pickup or delivery.
  • Help set up and clear service stations, including polishing tables and assisting waitstaff during peak hours.
  • Monitor and report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the kitchen supervisor immediately.
  • Participate in regular kitchen meetings to stay informed about menu changes, special promotions, and new safety procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum education: High School Diploma (SMA/SMK) or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of hands‑on experience in a commercial kitchen or similar food‑service environment.
  • Male candidates are preferred as per the current operational policy.
  • Strong knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food safety standards (HACCP).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to coordinate effectively with chefs, servers, and management.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift up to 25 kg, and perform repetitive tasks safely.
  • Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and a proactive attitude toward problem‑solving.
