Introduction

We are seeking a dynamic Business Investigator (Penyelidik Bisnis) to join our team in Palu. The role focuses on market and risk analysis, security investigations, and background checks that support our operational integrity and strategic growth. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Risk Management, Human Resources, and Operations departments to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations while delivering actionable insights.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct overt and covert security investigations across company operating areas, documenting findings with photographs, voice recordings, and written reports.
  • Perform AF Trigger investigations according to daily task assignments, ensuring each case follows company procedures and meets Service Level Agreements (SLA).
  • Lead investigations of Point of Sale (POS) locations, evaluating transaction anomalies, fraud risk, and compliance with business requirements.
  • Execute Employee Background Checks (EBC) for HR and business units, verifying identity, employment history, criminal records, and financial integrity.
  • Collect, analyze, and synthesize investigation data, preparing detailed reports that highlight risks, recommend mitigations, and support decision‑making.
  • Maintain a secure evidence repository, guaranteeing that all digital and physical evidence is stored in accordance with data protection standards.
  • Collaborate with local police forces and public prosecutors when investigations intersect with legal matters, ensuring proper chain‑of‑custody and legal compliance.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on investigation status, emerging threats, and potential impact on business operations.
  • Develop and refine investigative methodologies, incorporating new technologies and best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Assist in training junior staff on interview techniques, evidence collection, and report writing.

Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma (SMA/SMK) required; a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Criminology, Finance, or a related field is strongly preferred.
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in banking, financial services, or a related risk‑management function.
  • Demonstrated experience working with law‑enforcement agencies, police forces, or public prosecutors.
  • Excellent interview and communication skills, with the ability to extract accurate information from diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical mindset, capable of interpreting complex data sets and turning them into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Proficiency in using investigative tools, digital forensics software, and standard office applications.
  • High degree of integrity, discretion, and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Adaptability to evolving technology and willingness to adopt new investigative techniques.
  • Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia; proficiency in English is an advantage.
