Introduction
We are seeking a proactive Sales Merchandiser – Mobile Building Materials to join our dynamic team in Deli Serdang. This role is vital in ensuring that our construction and building‑material products are prominently displayed, well‑stocked, and effectively promoted across retail outlets and partner locations. The ideal candidate will combine a keen eye for visual merchandising with hands‑on sales experience, driving both brand visibility and revenue growth in a competitive market.
Responsibilities
- Arrange, maintain, and refresh product displays for building‑materials in stores, ensuring a tidy and attractive presentation that aligns with brand guidelines.
- Monitor daily stock levels, report shortages, and coordinate with warehouse or logistics teams to replenish inventory promptly.
- Distribute promotional assets (posters, point‑of‑sale materials, banners, etc.) to assigned outlets, and keep accurate records of asset deployment.
- Conduct regular inventory audits of all promotional materials, updating the central database to track usage and future needs.
- Guarantee optimal product visibility by positioning high‑margin items at eye‑level and utilizing shelf‑edge tactics that encourage impulse purchases.
- Perform on‑site surveys to assess competitor activities, in‑store promotions, and marketing tool effectiveness, providing actionable insights to the marketing team.
- Gather feedback from store managers and customers regarding product performance, pricing, and display effectiveness, feeding this information back to product development.
- Travel across the Deli Serdang region on a motorbike, adhering to the schedule of Monday through Saturday, 08:00‑17:00, while maintaining a professional appearance and safe driving practices.
- Collaborate closely with the sales, marketing, and logistics departments to align merchandising efforts with broader business objectives.
- Provide training and guidance to store staff on proper product handling, promotional set‑up, and upselling techniques.
Requirements
- Minimum education: High School Diploma (SMA/SMK) or equivalent.
- Age: 35 years or younger.
- At least 6 months of hands‑on experience in sales or merchandising of building‑materials, hardware, or related retail sectors.
- Valid motorbike license (SIM C) and active driver’s license (SIM A); personal motorbike required for daily travel.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build rapport with store managers and customers.
- Detail‑oriented with a keen sense of visual presentation and inventory management.
- Self‑motivated, able to work independently while meeting strict deadlines and performance targets.
- Basic proficiency with mobile devices and inventory software; familiarity with Microsoft Office is a plus.
- Physical stamina to handle loading and unloading of promotional materials and to navigate various retail environments.
