We are seeking a dynamic Superintendent – Scaffolding Projects to join our rapidly growing construction team in Batam, Riau Islands. This pivotal role will oversee the planning, installation, inspection, and dismantling of scaffolding systems across a variety of commercial and industrial projects. Responsibilities
- Coordinate and supervise all phases of scaffolding erection, modification, and dismantling on assigned sites, ensuring compliance with local regulations and industry standards.
- Develop detailed work‑plans, schedules, and resource allocations in collaboration with project managers, estimators, and site engineers.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments, enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and lead daily toolbox talks focused on scaffold safety.
- Monitor inventory levels of scaffolding components, arrange timely procurement, and manage storage to prevent loss or damage.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for subcontractors, suppliers, and client representatives, facilitating clear communication and swift resolution of issues.
- Prepare progress reports, daily logs, and incident documentation, providing accurate updates to senior management.
- Ensure that all work adheres to quality control procedures, conducting post‑installation checks and corrective actions when necessary.
- Mentor junior crew members, promoting skill development, adherence to best practices, and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Assist in budgeting activities, tracking labor and material costs, and proposing cost‑saving measures without compromising safety or quality.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent; a technical diploma or degree in Civil Engineering is highly preferred.
- Relevant experience in scaffolding supervision or a similar role, with at least 2 years of hands‑on site management.
- Valid certifications such as Scaffold Erection and Dismantling (SED) or equivalent recognized by the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower.
- Strong knowledge of local building codes, OSHA‑style safety regulations, and industry‑specific best practices.
- Ability to start work immediately and flexibility to work Monday through Saturday, 08:00 – 17:00.
- Preferably residing in Batam or the surrounding Riau Island region to facilitate rapid site deployment.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills; capable of directing diverse teams and negotiating with stakeholders.
- Problem‑solving mindset, with the capacity to anticipate challenges and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Physical stamina to perform site inspections and oversee manual tasks as required.
