Prepare cost estimates for product manufacturing/fabrication, repair, or services to aid management to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce, repair, or purchase.

Requirements:
  • Minimum bachelor degree (S1) in Engineering
  • Previous experiences in field of work, with a minimum of 5 years in a Estimating Engineer and Fabrication
  • Qualifications and supporting certificates in field of trade/required duties
  • Some previous experience of cost estimating, ideally in an heavy equipment, manufacturing, or engineering environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of variety of manufacturing, maintenance/repair processes and components, and ability to evaluate/analyse associated costs
  • Strong technical mindset and able to read and interpret technical data and translate to others
  • Ability to review samples, drawings, or instructions to understand specifications of output
  • Understanding of mining requirements and production targets
  • Basic understanding in English

Responsibilities:

  • Strong safety awareness at all times and adheres to Petrosea guidelines and regulations. Lead by good example in this area and show high standards of commitment to safety and surrounding environment. Always use all correct PPE and LOTO procedures.
  • Determine cost estimate targets during the design/development process, fabrication, or repairing work then recommending cost effective solutions.
  • Assess cost effectiveness of products/services and track actual costs relative to budget and report status on regular basis to ensure costs are in line with forecasts.
  • Support supplier meetings and negotiations to challenge quotation process and aim for cost reductions to meet target costs.
  • Prepare cost and expenditure reports and other necessary documentation at regular intervals to share with Maintenance Manager and others in Asset Management Group
  • Team work and communication within all maintenance work areas.
  • Notify your immediate supervisor if any unsafe equipment, tooling, or incident.
