Introduction
We are seeking a highly qualified Senior Clinical Pharmacist to join the multidisciplinary team at RS Kurnia Cilegon, a leading government hospital serving the Cilegon region. This senior role is pivotal in ensuring the safe, effective, and economical use of medication across all clinical departments. The successful candidate will work closely with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to optimize therapeutic outcomes, support regulatory compliance, and mentor junior pharmacy staff.
Responsibilities
- Lead the hospital pharmacy department in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of medication therapy management programs.
- Oversee the procurement, storage, and distribution of pharmaceutical products, ensuring strict adherence to national drug regulations and hospital policies.
- Conduct comprehensive medication reviews for in‑patients, identifying potential drug‑drug interactions, dosing errors, and opportunities for deprescribing.
- Provide clinical counseling and education to physicians and nursing staff on the latest evidence‑based pharmacotherapy guidelines.
- Manage the preparation and validation of sterile compounding, chemotherapy, and high‑risk medication protocols.
- Supervise inventory control, perform regular stock audits, and coordinate with suppliers to maintain optimal stock levels while minimizing waste.
- Develop and deliver training sessions for pharmacy interns, junior pharmacists, and other healthcare personnel on medication safety, regulatory updates, and best practices.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences, contributing pharmacological expertise to complex patient cases.
- Prepare detailed pharmaceutical reports for hospital management and governmental health authorities.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives, including adverse drug reaction monitoring, medication error analysis, and root‑cause investigations.
Requirements
- Minimum bachelor’s degree (S1) in Pharmacy with a professional pharmacy license (STRA) that is current and active.

- At least 3–5 years of experience in a hospital or clinical pharmacy setting; experience in a senior or supervisory role is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Indonesian pharmaceutical regulations, hospital formulary management, and Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP) standards.
- Demonstrated ability in pharmacy management, including budgeting, staffing, and workflow optimization.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to convey complex pharmacological concepts clearly to non‑pharmacist staff.
- High level of discipline, integrity, and commitment to patient safety.
- Proficiency with pharmacy information systems and electronic medical records (EMR).
- Willingness to work a six‑day week schedule (Monday‑Saturday) from 08:00 to 17:00.
- Placement at RS Kurnia Cilegon, with the expectation to be present on‑site.
