Introduction
The Faculty of Fine Arts is seeking a dynamic and dedicated lecturer for the Visual Communication Design program. Responsibilities
- Design and deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in Visual Communication Design, including typography, branding, digital media, illustration, and user‑experience fundamentals.
- Develop comprehensive curricula, lesson plans, and assessment tools that align with accreditation standards and industry trends.
- Mentor and supervise student projects, theses, and capstone work, providing constructive feedback and encouraging creative risk‑taking.
- Engage in scholarly research, publish articles in reputable journals, and present findings at conferences to keep the program at the forefront of visual communication theory and practice.
- Collaborate with faculty across the Faculty of Fine Arts to create interdisciplinary initiatives, workshops, and exhibitions that showcase student talent.
- Maintain an active professional portfolio and stay current with emerging software, design methodologies, and market demands.
- Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum reviews, and accreditation processes, contributing ideas for continuous improvement.
- Serve on university committees, community outreach programs, and industry partnership initiatives to strengthen the school’s network.
- Manage classroom dynamics, ensuring a respectful, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
- Handle administrative duties such as grading, record‑keeping, and reporting in a timely and accurate manner.
Requirements
- Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree (S1) in Visual Communication Design (DKV) with a Master’s degree (S2) in Design, Fine Arts, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated teaching experience at the tertiary level, preferably within a design or art program.
- Strong portfolio showcasing professional work in visual communication, branding, digital media, or related disciplines.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in team settings while also thriving as an independent contributor.
- High level of integrity, honesty, and responsibility; committed to ethical teaching practices.
- Ability to perform effectively under tight deadlines and high‑pressure situations.
- Flexibility to work Monday through Saturday, 08:00 – 17:00, with occasional evening or weekend events.
- Proficiency in industry‑standard software such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketch, Figma, and other relevant tools.
