Introduction
We are seeking a motivated Helper Cook – Kitchen Support Assistant to join our dynamic culinary team. This entry‑level position is ideal for individuals who have completed secondary education (SMA/SMK or equivalent) and are eager to develop a solid foundation in professional kitchen operations. The role offers a full‑time schedule, Monday through Saturday, from 08:00 to 17:00, providing ample opportunity to learn from experienced chefs while contributing to the smooth running of a bustling foodservice environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist senior cooks and chefs with basic food preparation, including washing, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers, mixers, and slicers safely and efficiently.
- Ensure that all workstations are kept clean, organized, and compliant with food‑safety regulations.
- Support the plating and garnishing of dishes during peak service periods to maintain speed and consistency.
- Monitor inventory levels of staples (flour, oil, spices) and report shortages to the kitchen supervisor.
- Assist in receiving and storing deliveries, checking for quality and proper labeling.
- Follow standard operating procedures for waste reduction, recycling, and proper disposal of food remnants.
- Collaborate with fellow team members to coordinate workflow, ensuring orders are completed on time.
- Respond promptly to special dietary requests and adjustments under the guidance of senior staff.
- Participate in routine kitchen inspections and assist in corrective actions when hygiene issues arise.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in a kitchen or food‑service setting.
