Introduction
We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Kitchen Helper (Helper Dapur) to join our fast‑growing Japanese restaurant located in the Lebak Bulus area of South Jakarta. This position is ideal for recent graduates from hospitality programs or individuals with at least one year of hands‑on experience in a Japanese‑style kitchen. As a key member of our back‑of‑house team, you will support chefs in delivering authentic, high‑quality dishes while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. Responsibilities
- Assist chefs with basic food preparation, including precise vegetable cutting, portioning of proteins, and assembling mise‑en‑place for sushi, ramen, and other Japanese specialties.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as rice cookers, grills, and fryers safely and efficiently.
- Maintain strict hygiene practices: sanitize work surfaces, monitor food storage temperatures, and follow HACCP guidelines.
- Support inventory management by receiving deliveries, labeling ingredients, and rotating stock to minimize waste.
- Coordinate with service staff to ensure timely delivery of dishes during peak hours.
- Participate in daily kitchen cleaning routines, including floor scrubbing, waste segregation, and proper disposal of kitchen by‑products.
- Help train new kitchen assistants on standard operating procedures, emphasizing safety and consistency.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the head chef immediately.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent; graduates from SMK Perhotelan are highly preferred.
- Age: maximum 27 years; no upper age limit beyond this requirement.
- Gender: open to all genders.
- Residence: must live in or near South Jakarta (preferably within reasonable commuting distance to Lebak Bulus).
- Experience: at least 1 year of practical experience in a Japanese restaurant or a similar fast‑paced kitchen environment.
- Core kitchen skills: ability to cut, cook, and uphold hygiene standards; familiarity with Japanese cooking techniques such as sushi rolling, tempura frying, and broth preparation.
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and the ability to work under pressure during busy service periods.
- Good communication skills and a team‑oriented mindset.
