The camp serves local and international guests, providing immersive learning experiences that promote environmental stewardship. As the Operational Manager, you will be the linchpin ensuring that every facet of the camp runs smoothly, safely, and in alignment with the organization’s green values.
Responsibilities
- Operations & Logistics: Direct all day‑to‑day activities, including accommodation management, transportation coordination, kitchen operations, facility maintenance, IT support, and security protocols. Continually refine processes to improve efficiency and scalability while respecting the camp’s sustainability ethos.
- Leadership & Team Management: Recruit, mentor, and supervise a multidisciplinary team of facilities staff, housekeeping, maintenance technicians, and security personnel. Foster a collaborative culture rooted in respect, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Financial & Resource Management: Develop and monitor operational budgets, control expenditures, and conduct regular financial reporting. Negotiate with vendors, oversee inventory, and implement cost‑saving initiatives that minimize waste and carbon footprint.
- Safety & Compliance: Implement robust risk‑management procedures, conduct regular safety drills, and ensure compliance with local regulations, fire codes, and health standards. Maintain an up‑to‑date emergency response plan.
- Sustainability & Innovation: Champion eco‑friendly practices such as waste reduction, renewable energy usage, and water conservation across all operational areas. Identify and pilot innovative solutions that enhance the camp’s green credentials.
- Program Support: Work closely with program facilitators to guarantee that facilities, equipment, and logistical arrangements are ready for each educational or recreational session.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, external partners, and community leaders, ensuring transparent and timely information flow.
- Continuous Improvement: Conduct regular performance reviews, gather guest feedback, and use data‑driven insights to refine operational standards and elevate the overall guest experience.
Requirements
- Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree (S1) in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Tourism, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 3 years of progressive experience in operational management within hospitality, tourism, or camp settings.
- Gender: Male (as specified by the client).
