Introduction
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Part‑Time English Teacher to join our rapidly expanding language centre. This role is ideal for individuals who hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree, possess strong communication skills, and have a passion for helping learners achieve fluency in English. The successful candidate will work closely with the Center Director and Director of Studies, delivering high‑quality instruction both on‑site and online, while contributing to the centre’s vibrant learning community.
Responsibilities
- Teach up to 40 academic hours (approximately 24 contact hours) per week, following the timetable assigned by the Director of Studies.
- Prepare detailed lesson plans and gather all necessary teaching materials before each class.
- Deliver lessons that meet the highest standards of English language pedagogy, incorporating interactive activities, multimedia resources, and real‑world contexts.
- Become thoroughly familiar with the centre’s curriculum, textbooks, and supplementary resources, adapting content to meet the diverse needs of learners.
- Administer and grade assessments, quizzes, and exams in accordance with centre procedures, providing constructive feedback to students.
- Maintain accurate student records, attendance sheets, and progress reports, ensuring data is up‑to‑date and securely stored.
- Participate in placement testing and interview prospective students to assess language level and learning goals.
- Lead demonstration lessons, conversation clubs, and extracurricular language activities to enrich the learning experience.
- Assist with administrative duties such as preparing certificates, updating learning management systems, and supporting marketing events.
- Ensure classroom equipment and learning resources are well‑maintained and report any technical issues promptly.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices, contribute to curriculum development, and uphold a supportive teaching environment.
- Adhere to the centre’s policies on punctuality, class start/end times, and professional conduct.
Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (S1) from a recognized university.
- At least one year of proven experience teaching English, either in a classroom or virtual setting.
- Excellent command of English, both spoken and written; TOEFL score ≥ 550 or IELTS overall band ≥ 6.5 (preferred but optional).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interaction with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Flexibility to work split shifts (morning and evening) and to teach both on‑site and off‑site as required.
- Commitment to a minimum one‑year contract and a half‑time schedule of approximately 30 working hours per week.
- Ability to design engaging lesson plans, integrate technology, and adapt teaching strategies to various proficiency levels.
