Introduction
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Cashier – Customer Service to join our dynamic retail team. This position is the front‑line face of our store, responsible for delivering fast, accurate, and friendly service to every shopper who walks through our doors. The role is full‑time, Monday through Saturday, with working hours from 08:00 to 17:00. It offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with at least one year of relevant experience to further develop their retail expertise while contributing to a supportive and collaborative workplace.
Responsibilities
- Operate the point‑of‑sale (POS) system efficiently, scanning items, processing cash, credit, and digital payments with precision.
- Maintain an organized checkout area, ensuring that merchandise, bags, and promotional materials are readily available.
- Provide clear, courteous explanations of store policies, promotions, and product information to customers.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve minor complaints on the spot, escalating more complex issues to the store manager when necessary.
- Balance cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift, reconciling any discrepancies promptly.
- Assist with inventory counts, stocking shelves, and arranging displays during slower periods.
- Collaborate with teammates to ensure smooth store operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Adhere to health, safety, and loss‑prevention guidelines, reporting any suspicious activity to management.
- Continuously update product knowledge to answer customer questions accurately and suggest complementary items.
- Maintain a clean and welcoming checkout environment, complying with hygiene standards and store branding.
Requirements
- Minimum education: High School Diploma (SMA/SMK) or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of proven experience in a cashier or customer‑service role within a retail setting.
- Strong communication skills—able to speak clearly, listen actively, and convey information in a friendly manner.
- High level of integrity; honesty and responsibility are non‑negotiable.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and cooperation.
- Capability to remain calm and efficient while working under pressure during peak hours.
- Basic mathematical proficiency for handling transactions and cash reconciliation.
- Familiarity with POS software and cash‑handling procedures; willingness to learn new systems.
