Introduction
We are seeking a dedicated Pembantu Koki – Kitchen Operations Support to join our fast‑growing non‑Halal restaurant located in the vibrant Gading Serpong area. This role is pivotal in ensuring smooth kitchen operations, maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, and supporting food preparation from initial prep to final plating. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic, team‑oriented environment, possess a genuine passion for the food & beverage (F&B) industry, and be eager to develop their culinary skills under the guidance of experienced chefs.
Responsibilities
- Assist chefs in preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, with a focus on Chinese cuisine and other menu items.
- Maintain strict adherence to the restaurant’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for food safety, hygiene, and quality control.
- Ensure the kitchen workstations, equipment, and utensils are clean, organized, and ready for service at all times.
- Support inventory management by receiving deliveries, checking stock, and storing ingredients properly.
- Participate in daily deep‑cleaning tasks, including sanitizing surfaces, floors, and refrigeration units.
- Help with the plating and garnishing of dishes to meet presentation standards before they reach the guest.
- Collaborate closely with the kitchen team to coordinate timing, portion control, and order flow during peak hours.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards promptly to the kitchen supervisor.
- Continuously seek opportunities to learn new cooking techniques and improve personal efficiency.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent.
- Age limit: maximum 28 years old (some listings also mention a maximum of 35 years, but priority is given to candidates 28 or younger).
- At least 1 year of hands‑on experience as a Cook Helper or similar role in a restaurant environment.
- Ability to work in a non‑Halal kitchen setting and respect all related food handling guidelines.
- Strong work ethic: honest, disciplined, diligent, responsible, and eager to learn.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills; able to follow instructions and support colleagues.
- Passion for the F&B industry and a desire to build a long‑term career in culinary operations.
- Willingness to be based in Gading Serpong and adapt to the shift schedule of 08:00 – 17:00.
- Basic proficiency in Chinese cooking techniques is a plus, along with a general cooking skill set.
