Responsibilities
- Operate espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment to prepare a wide range of coffee drinks according to standardized recipes.
- Maintain consistency in taste, temperature, and presentation for each beverage, ensuring quality control at every step.
- Greet customers with a warm, professional demeanor, take orders accurately, and provide knowledgeable recommendations on menu items.
- Execute up‑selling and cross‑selling techniques, promoting specialty drinks, seasonal offerings, and food items to increase average ticket size.
- Handle cash and card transactions efficiently, reconcile daily sales, and maintain accurate cash drawer balances.
- Keep the service counter, equipment, and work area impeccably clean, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Assist in inventory monitoring, receive deliveries, and restock coffee beans, milk, syrups, and consumables.
- Participate in regular training sessions to stay updated on new brewing methods, product launches, and customer service best practices.
- Collaborate with fellow team members to ensure smooth shift transitions and maintain a cohesive team spirit.
- Provide feedback to management on operational improvements, equipment maintenance, and guest preferences.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent; hospitality or culinary graduates are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Maximum age of 27 years; must not be currently enrolled in an academic program.
- At least 1 year of proven barista experience in a high‑traffic café or restaurant environment.
- Excellent mental and physical health, capable of standing for long periods and handling a fast‑paced work environment.
- Demonstrated service‑oriented mindset: enthusiastic, optimistic, and able to maintain a positive attitude under pressure.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage customers in both Indonesian and basic English.
- Willingness to be stationed at our Balikpapan outlet and flexible with shift schedules, including weekends and holidays.
- Proficiency in operating coffee‑making equipment, latte art techniques, and basic food handling procedures.
