Responsibilities
- Assist the head chef and line cooks with food preparation, including washing, chopping, filleting, and portioning ingredients.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as stoves, woks, deep fryers, and grills safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to strict hygiene and sanitation standards.
- Support inventory control by receiving deliveries, storing supplies properly, and reporting any shortages.
- Prepare basic menu items, sauces, and garnishes under supervision, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation.
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures to guarantee food safety compliance with local health regulations.
- Collaborate with service staff to ensure timely delivery of dishes during peak hours.
- Participate in daily briefings, offering suggestions for workflow improvements and menu enhancements.
- Engage in regular training sessions to acquire new cooking techniques such as wok stir‑frying, filleting fish, and advanced frying methods.
- Assist in the clean‑up process at the end of each shift, including sanitizing equipment, disposing of waste, and preparing the kitchen for the next day.
Requirements
- Minimum education: High School (SMA), Vocational School (SMK), or equivalent.
- Age: 18 – 50 years old; the role is open to both male and female applicants, though the primary gender preference is female.
- No prior professional experience required; however, a basic understanding of kitchen operations is advantageous.
- Demonstrated hand skill with stove, wok, fillet, and frying techniques is highly desirable.
- Strong willingness to learn, improve, and acquire new culinary competencies.
- Excellent teamwork and communication abilities.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude toward guest service.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 kg.
