Introduction
The Field Collector – Bontang Site is a critical front‑line role responsible for managing and recovering outstanding receivables directly from customers in the Bontang region. This position involves daily interaction with clients, on‑site visits, and the collection of payments in a professional and courteous manner. The successful candidate will operate Monday through Friday, from 08:00 to 17:00, and will serve as the face of our finance department, helping to maintain cash flow and strengthen customer relationships. The role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a dynamic, field‑oriented environment and possess strong negotiation and communication abilities.
Responsibilities
- Conduct on‑site collection activities, visiting customers within the assigned Bontang area to discuss outstanding invoices.
- Negotiate payment terms and settlements, ensuring agreements are documented and aligned with company policy.
- Collect cash, checks, or electronic payments from customers and verify receipt against outstanding balances.
- Prepare and submit detailed daily visit reports, including payment status, customer feedback, and any escalated issues.
- Maintain accurate records of collection efforts in the company’s CRM system, updating contact information and payment histories.
- Achieve or exceed weekly and monthly collection targets set by the finance manager.
- Identify patterns of delinquency and propose proactive strategies to mitigate future arrears.
- Coordinate with the internal accounting team to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely posting of payments.
- Provide exceptional customer service, handling inquiries and complaints with professionalism and empathy.
Requirements
- Minimum education: High School (SMA/SMK) or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of experience in collections; 2 years preferred, especially in a field‑collection setting.
- Valid motorcycle license (SIM C) and ownership of a reliable two‑wheel vehicle for traveling within the Bontang area.
- Strong knowledge of the local geography to efficiently plan routes and minimize travel time.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and persuade customers.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet strict deadlines.
- Proficiency in basic office software (MS Excel, Word) and familiarity with collection or CRM tools.
