The Operator Jahit will be responsible for operating sewing machines, performing finishing tasks, and ensuring that every piece meets our strict quality standards. Responsibilities
- Set up and operate industrial sewing machines, including straight‑stitch, overlock, and, when qualified, the mesin obras for edge finishing.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, pattern markers, and work orders to produce garments according to specification.
- Perform stitching, seam finishing, and trimming operations while maintaining consistent tension and stitch length.
- Inspect each completed piece for defects, correct any issues, and document quality findings according to the company’s SOPs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work station, including routine cleaning and minor maintenance of sewing equipment.
- Collaborate with pattern makers, cutting staff, and quality control inspectors to ensure smooth workflow and on‑time delivery.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies, including observance of daily prayer times as required.
- Participate in regular training sessions to stay up‑to‑date with new sewing techniques, machine upgrades, and industry best practices.
- Assist in inventory management by reporting low stock of thread, needles, and other consumables.
Requirements
- Minimum age: 20 years; maximum age: 48 years.
- Female candidates are preferred for this position.
- At least three (3) months of hands‑on sewing experience in a garment or textile environment.
- Proficiency with basic sewing machines; ability to operate a mesin obras is a strong advantage.
- All education levels accepted; a high school diploma or equivalent is desirable.
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and the ability to follow detailed work instructions.
- Good physical stamina to stand for extended periods and handle repetitive motions.
- Basic literacy in Bahasa Indonesia and the ability to read simple technical sketches.
- Commitment to observe daily prayer (Sholat) as part of the workplace culture.
