Introduction
We are seeking passionate and talented performers to join our cultural preservation team as Penari Tradisional Dayak Budaya. This role is ideal for individuals who have a deep appreciation for Indonesia’s rich Dayak heritage and are eager to share that legacy with audiences both locally and internationally. The successful candidate will be a dynamic ambassador of traditional Dayak dance, capable of delivering authentic performances while engaging with diverse audiences through strong English communication and modern social‑media platforms.
Responsibilities
- Perform traditional Dayak dances at cultural festivals, tourism events, school programs, and corporate gatherings, ensuring artistic integrity and cultural accuracy.
- Collaborate with choreographers, musicians, and costume designers to develop and refine performance pieces that reflect authentic Dayak storytelling.
- Conduct workshops and instructional sessions for community members, students, and visitors interested in learning Dayak dance techniques and cultural context.
- Represent the organization at national and international cultural exchanges, delivering presentations and demonstrations in English to diverse audiences.
- Create engaging short‑form video content for platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, highlighting the beauty and significance of Dayak traditions.
- Maintain and care for traditional costumes, accessories, and musical instruments, ensuring they are preserved for future performances.
- Assist the marketing team by providing high‑quality visual material, captions, and cultural insights for promotional campaigns.
- Participate in regular rehearsals, feedback sessions, and cultural research activities to continuously improve performance quality.
Requirements
- Education: Minimum high school diploma (SMA/SMK or equivalent).
- Age: Applicants up to 30 years old (flexible based on talent and experience).
- Gender: Open to all genders.
- Language: Proficient English communication skills, both spoken and written, to interact with international audiences and partners.
- Experience: No prior professional experience required; however, prior involvement in traditional dance, cultural activities, or community performance is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Basic understanding of social‑media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube) and ability to create or edit short video clips.
- Personal Attributes: Strong stage presence, discipline, teamwork, adaptability, and a genuine passion for preserving Dayak cultural heritage.
