Responsibilities
- Lead the end‑to‑end development of new products, from concept brainstorming and feasibility studies to prototype formulation and scale‑up.
- Design, conduct, and document laboratory experiments to evaluate ingredient interactions, stability, sensory attributes, and functional performance.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to develop and validate testing protocols, ensuring compliance with internal specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze experimental data using statistical tools, generate technical reports, and present findings to senior management and cross‑functional stakeholders.
- Identify and implement process improvements that enhance product consistency, reduce production costs, and shorten time‑to‑market.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and competitor activities to inspire innovative product ideas.
- Support pilot‑scale manufacturing runs, troubleshoot formulation issues, and provide technical guidance to production staff.
- Maintain an organized laboratory environment, ensuring proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals and samples.
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree (S1) in Food Technology, Chemistry, Pharmacy, or a closely related discipline.
- At least 1 year of practical experience in research and development, preferably within the food, chemical, or pharmaceutical sectors.
- Strong understanding of formulation science, analytical testing methods, and product validation processes.
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities, attention to detail, and a creative mindset for developing novel solutions.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Minitab, or similar) and ability to interpret statistical results.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
- Adaptability to new technologies, willingness to learn, and ability to work independently as well as within multidisciplinary teams.
