Introduction

We are seeking a passionate Guru Bahasa Jepang to join our senior high school curriculum and enrich our students’ linguistic and cultural competencies. The ideal candidate will hold at least a bachelor’s degree (S1) in Japanese language, education, or a related field, and will be dedicated to fostering a supportive, academically rigorous environment. The role involves full‑time teaching duties from Monday to Saturday, 08:00–17:00, with opportunities to contribute to extracurricular activities and curriculum development.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging Japanese language lessons for grades 10‑12, aligning with national standards and school objectives.
  • Develop and update teaching materials, including textbooks, multimedia resources, and interactive activities that cater to different learning styles.
  • Provide individualized support and feedback to students, monitoring progress through quizzes, tests, oral examinations, and project‑based assessments.
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers to integrate Japanese language concepts into cross‑disciplinary projects such as cultural festivals, exchange programs, and technology‑enhanced learning modules.
  • Organize and supervise extracurricular clubs, such as a Japanese conversation club, calligraphy workshop, or anime film nights, to deepen cultural immersion.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and lesson plans, and submit timely reports to the academic coordinator.
  • Participate in professional development sessions, staff meetings, and parent‑teacher conferences to continuously improve instructional practice.
  • For Madin (Islamic) classes: read and interpret the kitab kuning, demonstrate mastery of Nahwu‑Shorof, and incorporate Arabic language skills where appropriate.
  • Uphold the school’s code of conduct, demonstrate unwavering loyalty to institutional policies, and act as a positive role model for students.

Requirements

  • Minimum education: Bachelor’s (S1) or Master’s (S2) degree in Japanese Language, Education, Linguistics, or a closely related discipline.
  • Degree preferably obtained from a recognized public university (PTN) in Indonesia.
  • Strong command of Japanese (both written and spoken) and the ability to teach grammar, conversation, reading, and writing effectively.
  • For Madin teaching positions: ability to read kitab kuning, solid grasp of Nahwu‑Shorof, and at least five years of formal pesantren education.
  • Proficiency in Arabic and English is highly desirable to support multilingual communication and resource development.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the capacity to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Demonstrated loyalty and willingness to adhere strictly to the school’s policies and ethical standards.
  • Organizational aptitude, time‑management skills, and the ability to handle a full teaching load (Monday‑Saturday, 08:00‑17:00).
