Introduction
We are seeking a dynamic Sales Merchandiser to join our fast‑growing FMCG/Personal Care team in Malang. This position is responsible for driving product visibility, securing shelf space, and generating sales across a network of retail outlets. The successful candidate will act as the primary point of contact between the company and its distribution partners, ensuring that our brand maintains a strong market presence and that customers receive the highest level of service.
Responsibilities
- Visit an average of 20 retail stores per day to monitor product placement, stock levels, and promotional displays.
- Manage relationships with 80–150 outlets, ensuring timely order fulfillment and addressing any concerns promptly.
- Execute merchandising strategies, set up eye‑catching displays, and maintain brand standards in all points of sale.
- Collect and process store orders, inputting data into the sales system and coordinating with the logistics team for delivery.
- Conduct regular market and competitor analyses to identify opportunities for growth and recommend adjustments to pricing or promotion tactics.
- Negotiate shelf space, promotional agreements, and promotional allowances with store managers and regional buyers.
- Prepare daily and weekly reports on sales performance, outlet coverage, and merchandising compliance.
- Provide feedback to the product development and marketing teams on consumer preferences and emerging trends.
- Maintain a personal vehicle in good condition for travel to and between outlets across the Malang region.
- Collaborate with fellow merchandisers and the sales manager to achieve regional targets and share best practices.
Requirements
- Minimum education: D3/D4 (Associate degree) or at least SMA/SMK for candidates with strong relevant experience.
- At least 1 year of proven sales experience within the FMCG or Personal Care industry.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly.
- Demonstrated ability to handle a large portfolio of outlets (80–150) efficiently.
- Comfortable conducting up to 20 store visits per day and managing a demanding schedule.
- Solid understanding of display techniques, plan‑ogram compliance, and merchandising best practices.
- Experience in taking and processing store orders accurately.
- Own a reliable personal vehicle; a valid driver’s license is required.
- Preferably residing in or near Malang to reduce travel time and increase field coverage.
- Flexible to work on an outsourcing basis and ready to join the team immediately.
