Introduction
We are seeking a dedicated Mathematics Tutor (Tentor Matematika) to provide specialized instruction for ninth‑grade male students with hearing impairments (SLB) at a residential tutoring center in Bedali Agung, Lawang, Malang. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality, engaging mathematics lessons twice a week, fostering confidence and academic growth for students who require tailored teaching methods.
This position offers a supportive environment where the tutor works closely with a classroom mentor (walmur) and receives guidance on communication strategies, ensuring that each session meets the unique needs of the learners.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver 120‑minute mathematics lessons for 9th‑grade students on Tuesdays and Fridays, covering curriculum standards and problem‑solving techniques.
- Adapt teaching materials to accommodate hearing‑impaired students, incorporating visual aids, written instructions, and interactive activities.
- Assess student progress regularly, provide constructive feedback, and adjust instructional approaches based on individual learning styles.
- Collaborate with the walmur (class mentor) to coordinate communication with parents, guardians, and support staff, ensuring alignment on student goals.
- Maintain accurate attendance records and report session outcomes to the tutoring center administration.
- Participate in monthly planning meetings to share best practices for special‑needs education and contribute ideas for curriculum enhancement.
- Uphold a safe and inclusive learning environment, promoting respect, patience, and confidence among students.
- Stay current with modern mathematics teaching methodologies and special‑education techniques through self‑study or professional development workshops.
Requirements
- Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree (S1) in Mathematics, Education, Special Education, or a related field.
- Experience: No prior teaching experience required, though experience with special‑needs (SLB) students is highly desirable.
