Introduction
We are seeking a skilled Tukang (Pelukis / Tukang Kayu) to join our dynamic hospitality team. This role is pivotal in maintaining the aesthetic appeal and structural integrity of our hotel properties, ensuring that every guest experiences a welcoming and impeccably maintained environment. The successful candidate will blend hands‑on craftsmanship with a strong service mindset, working closely with the facilities and housekeeping departments to deliver high‑quality results.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and ad‑hoc painting tasks across guest rooms, corridors, public areas, and service zones, adhering to brand colour standards and safety protocols.
- Execute carpentry projects such as repairing furniture, installing custom wood panels, and constructing small fixtures that enhance guest comfort.
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspections, identify wear‑and‑tear, and propose corrective actions to minimise downtime.
- Collaborate with the engineering and housekeeping teams to schedule work during low‑occupancy periods, reducing guest disruption.
- Maintain an inventory of paints, varnishes, tools, and hardware, ensuring that all supplies are stored safely and replenished in a timely manner.
- Follow the hotel’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for safety, including proper handling of chemicals, use of personal protective equipment, and waste disposal.
- Document completed work in the maintenance management system, providing clear reports for management review.
- Assist in training junior staff or apprentices, sharing best practices in painting techniques and carpentry workmanship.
- Respond promptly to guest or manager requests for emergency repairs, demonstrating flexibility and a calm demeanor under pressure.
Requirements
- Gender: Open to all genders.
- Education: Minimum SMA/SMK; D3/D4 or a relevant bachelor’s degree is highly preferred.
- Experience: At least 1–2 years of hands‑on experience in painting and carpentry, preferably within the hospitality or hotel industry.
- Knowledge of hotel operational standards and the ability to align craftsmanship with brand guidelines.
- Strong communication skills and a guest‑service orientation that prioritises satisfaction.
- Professional appearance, friendly demeanor, and the ability to represent the hotel’s brand positively.
- Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Resilience under tight deadlines, with the capacity to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
