Introduction
We are seeking a motivated Assistant Kitchen Chef (Asisten Koki Catering) to join our Central Kitchen team in North Jakarta. This role is pivotal in supporting the daily preparation of high‑quality catering orders that are delivered through various merchant platforms and adhere strictly to our Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The successful candidate will work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment, ensuring that every dish meets the culinary standards expected by our clients while maintaining a spotless and organized kitchen.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and plate catering orders received via online merchants, following precise recipes and SOPs to guarantee consistency and taste.
- Inspect and sanitize all kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations before the start of each shift to ensure a hygienic cooking environment.
- Verify that all raw materials and ingredients are fresh, properly labeled, and stored at correct temperatures.
- Conduct regular stock checks, record inventory movements, and assist in the ordering process to avoid shortages or over‑stocking.
- Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards, including proper hand‑washing, cross‑contamination prevention, and waste segregation.
- Support the head chef in menu preparation, portion control, and quality assurance for large‑scale catering events.
- Collaborate with fellow kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow during peak hours, including shift handovers and communication of any issues.
- Participate in routine deep‑cleaning tasks, floor sweeping, and disposal of expired items to keep the kitchen area comfortable and safe.
- Assist in calculating daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports, highlighting variances and suggesting corrective actions.
- Adapt to flexible scheduling, including shift work, weekend duties, and occasional overtime when demand spikes.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK/D3, preferably a specialization in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or Tourism.
- At least 1 year of hands‑on experience as a kitchen crew, cook, or assistant in the food‑and‑beverage (F&B) industry; fresh graduates are also welcome to apply.
- Solid knowledge of food hygiene, safety regulations, and best practices in a commercial kitchen setting.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift heavy containers, and work in a hot, fast‑moving environment.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and occasional overtime as operational needs dictate.
