Introduction
We are seeking a motivated Senior Clinical Veterinary Assistant to join our dynamic team at PT. Karangploso Veterinary Services. This full‑time position is based in the Karangploso/Lawang area and offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with experienced veterinarians while providing high‑quality care to a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, and exotic fauna. The role is ideal for recent graduates or individuals with practical experience who are eager to develop their skills in a fast‑paced clinical environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist senior veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and routine procedures, ensuring proper preparation of instruments and anesthesia equipment.
- Prepare and maintain clean, sterile workstations, examination rooms, and surgical suites in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Handle, restrain, and calm animals of various species, demonstrating confidence and compassion when working with dogs, cats, and other fauna.
- Collect and process laboratory samples (blood, urine, feces) and accurately record results for veterinary review.
- Maintain detailed patient records, update treatment plans, and communicate follow‑up instructions to pet owners.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and post‑operative care under veterinary supervision.
- Manage inventory of medical supplies, order reagents, and ensure proper storage of pharmaceuticals.
- Provide client education on preventive care, nutrition, and proper handling of animals.
- Coordinate transportation of animals to and from the clinic using a motorbike, ensuring safety and compliance with local regulations.
- Participate in continuous training programs, workshops, and community outreach events to stay current with industry best practices.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent; D3 qualification is a plus.
- Open to all genders; both male and female candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Ability to ride a motorbike safely for client visits and emergency calls.
- Comfortable working with dogs, cats, and other fauna; no fear of animals.
- Prior experience in animal handling, wildlife care, or a related fauna field is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members.
- Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail for record‑keeping and inventory management.
- Commitment to working Monday through Saturday, 08:00‑17:00, with flexibility for occasional overtime.
- Basic knowledge of health management principles and veterinary terminology.
