Responsibilities
- Assist the chef in preparing ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping, and measuring portions according to recipe specifications.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workstations, storage areas, and equipment throughout each shift.
- Monitor inventory levels, report shortages, and help with receiving and storing deliveries to ensure freshness and compliance with food‑safety standards.
- Execute basic cooking tasks such as grilling, sautéing, boiling, and assembling plated dishes under the supervision of senior kitchen staff.
- Adhere strictly to hygiene protocols, including proper hand washing, use of gloves, and regular sanitization of surfaces and utensils.
- Support the kitchen team during peak service hours by expediting orders, restocking supplies, and ensuring timely delivery of dishes.
- Participate in daily briefings, providing feedback on workflow improvements and suggesting new menu ideas when appropriate.
- Comply with health and safety regulations, promptly reporting any hazards or incidents to management.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in a restaurant or catering kitchen environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours, Monday through Saturday, from 08:00 – 17:00.
- Strong teamwork skills combined with the capability to perform tasks independently when needed.
- Personal attributes: honesty, sociability, meticulousness, a willingness to learn, resilience, and a fast‑learning mindset.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and handle the demands of a fast‑paced kitchen.
- Willingness to be stationed at either the Juanda Airport location or the Tegalsari outlet.
- Basic cooking techniques and a solid understanding of food safety principles.
