Introduction
We are seeking a dedicated Professional Gardener to join our growing horticulture team. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about plant care, landscape aesthetics, and sustainable gardening practices. As a key member of our facilities management department, you will help create and maintain beautiful, healthy outdoor spaces that enhance the wellbeing of employees, visitors, and the surrounding community.
Responsibilities
- Plan, plant, and maintain a variety of ornamental and functional vegetation, including trees, shrubs, flowers, and groundcovers.
- Perform routine tasks such as pruning, trimming, mulching, fertilizing, and soil amendment to promote vigorous growth.
- Monitor and manage irrigation systems, ensuring efficient water use and addressing any leaks or malfunctions promptly.
- Identify and control pests, diseases, and weeds using environmentally friendly methods and integrated pest‑management techniques.
- Maintain detailed records of planting schedules, treatments applied, and plant health observations for reporting and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with landscape architects and the facilities team to execute seasonal design changes and special projects.
- Assist other departments—such as events, security, and maintenance—by preparing outdoor spaces for functions, signage placement, or safety inspections.
- Adhere to a structured work schedule, including potential shift work, to ensure the garden remains well‑kept during all operating hours.
- Communicate any issues, equipment needs, or safety concerns to supervisors in a timely and professional manner.
- Uphold a tidy, organized work environment, keeping tools, equipment, and storage areas clean and orderly.
Requirements
- Minimum education: High School Diploma (SMA/SMK) or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of hands‑on gardening or horticultural experience; 1‑5 years preferred.
- Strong knowledge of plant biology, soil science, and irrigation techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Flexibility and motivation to adapt to changing tasks, seasonal workload peaks, and cross‑departmental assistance.
- Excellent communication skills; able to report issues clearly and interact courteously with colleagues and visitors.
- Physical stamina to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions and lift moderate loads.
