Introduction
We are a fast‑growing pet‑care retailer seeking a dedicated Professional Animal Groomer to join our dynamic team. This full‑time position is based in a modern, customer‑focused pet shop that serves a diverse clientele of dog and cat owners. As a Groomer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the health, comfort, and appearance of each animal that walks through our doors while delivering a friendly, trustworthy experience for pet owners.
Responsibilities
- Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, nail clipping, ear cleaning, and specialty styling for dogs and cats of various breeds.
- Assess each animal’s coat and skin condition and recommend appropriate care products or additional veterinary attention when needed.
- Maintain a spotless, sanitized work environment by disinfecting grooming tables, tools, and surrounding areas after each session.
- Provide clear, courteous communication with customers, explaining grooming procedures, after‑care instructions, and any observed health concerns.
- Assist with daily pet shop operations such as inventory checks, stocking grooming supplies, and supporting sales staff during peak hours.
- Handle animals calmly and safely, demonstrating patience and empathy, especially with nervous or anxious pets.
- Collaborate effectively with fellow groomers, store managers, and veterinary partners to coordinate appointments and special requests.
- Document service details in the shop’s management system, ensuring accurate billing and record‑keeping.
- Continuously improve skills through on‑the‑job training, industry workshops, and staying updated on the latest grooming trends and techniques.
Requirements
- Minimum education: High School Diploma (SMA/SMK) or equivalent.
- Male candidates only, as specified by the client’s operational policy.
- Age: Up to 30 years old.
- At least 0‑1 year of hands‑on grooming experience; prior experience is considered a strong plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced retail environment.
- Strong work ethic: punctual, honest, disciplined, and highly responsible.
- No fear of animals and no known allergies to common pet allergens.
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to listen actively and convey information clearly.
- Basic knowledge of animal hygiene, coat types, and safe handling techniques.
