Introduction
We are seeking a motivated Kitchen Support Assistant – Cook Helper to join our dynamic culinary team. This entry‑level position is ideal for individuals who have completed secondary education (SMA/SMK or equivalent) and possess at least one year of hands‑on experience in a kitchen environment. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining the efficiency, cleanliness, and overall smooth operation of our food preparation areas while supporting chefs and line cooks throughout the service day.
Responsibilities
- Assist chefs and line cooks with basic food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, ensuring all tools, utensils, and equipment are sanitized according to health‑code standards.
- Support the assembly of dishes during peak service periods, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to recipe specifications.
- Receive, store, and rotate inventory, checking for freshness and reporting any discrepancies to the kitchen supervisor.
- Monitor kitchen supplies and notify management when stock levels of staples (e.g., flour, oil, spices) need replenishment.
- Participate in daily kitchen cleaning routines, including floor sweeping, trash removal, and equipment maintenance.
- Assist in setting up and breaking down workstations for special events, banquets, or catering orders.
- Follow all safety and hygiene protocols, wearing appropriate protective gear and reporting any hazards immediately.
- Collaborate effectively with both team members and individual contributors, fostering a cooperative and respectful work environment.
- Continuously develop cooking skills by observing senior chefs, attending briefings, and practicing new techniques during downtime.
Requirements
- Maximum age: 27 years.
- Physically and mentally healthy; able to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights.
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar kitchen support or cook‑helper role.
- Demonstrated honesty, discipline, loyalty, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to work independently when required.
- Basic cooking skills and a genuine passion for food preparation.
- Good communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia (and English, preferred).
- Flexibility to work Monday through Saturday, 08:00 – 17:00, with occasional overtime during special events.
