Introduction
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our dynamic service team. This full‑time position is ideal for candidates who have a solid background in maintaining and repairing large trucks such as single‑axle (Engkel) and double‑axle (Double) vehicles. Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical issues on heavy‑duty trucks, including diesel engines, transmission systems, and hydraulic circuits.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance, oil changes, brake servicing, and tire rotations in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
- Disassemble, repair, and reassemble engine components, fuel systems, and cooling systems to restore optimal performance.
- Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic codes to identify root causes of failures.
- Maintain accurate service records, complete work orders, and communicate findings clearly to supervisors and clients.
- Collaborate with the parts department to order, receive, and inventory replacement components.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, including proper lockout/tagout procedures and use of personal protective equipment.
- Mentor junior technicians and share best practices on troubleshooting heavy‑vehicle systems.
- Participate in after‑hours on‑call rotation to provide emergency assistance for breakdowns.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent; preferably a vocational diploma (SMK/D3) in Automotive Technology.
- At least 1 year of hands‑on experience working on heavy‑duty trucks; fresh graduates with relevant internship experience are welcome.
- Proficiency in repairing diesel engines, manual and automatic transmission systems, and hydraulic mechanisms.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with diagnostic tools such as OBD scanners and pressure gauges.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with team members and customers.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Physical stamina to handle lifting, bending, and prolonged periods of standing in a workshop environment.
