Introduction
We are seeking a highly motivated Internet and Wi‑Fi Network Technician to join our field operations team in the Pekanbaru region. This position is ideal for candidates who have a strong technical background in computer networking, fiber optics, and telecommunications, and who thrive in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environment. As a key member of our service delivery crew, you will play an essential role in ensuring that residential and business customers receive reliable, high‑speed internet connectivity.
Responsibilities
- Perform on‑site installation, configuration, and activation of broadband services, including FTTH (Fiber‑to‑the‑Home) and Wi‑Fi solutions.
- Provide remote and on‑site technical support, troubleshooting connectivity issues, signal loss, and equipment malfunctions.
- Diagnose and resolve fiber optic splice losses, connector issues, and optical power budget discrepancies.
- Collaborate with the network operations center to schedule maintenance windows and implement firmware upgrades on customer premises equipment (CPE).
- Educate customers on proper usage of their equipment, safety practices, and best‑practice network configurations.
- Document all service calls, installation reports, and technical resolutions in the company’s CRM system.
- Maintain an inventory of tools, spare parts, and consumables, ensuring that all equipment meets safety and quality standards.
- Participate in periodic field audits to verify service quality and compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO/IEC 27001, local telecom regulations).
- Assist senior engineers in planning and executing network expansion projects within the assigned coverage area.
- Provide timely feedback to the product development team regarding recurring issues and potential service improvements.
Requirements
- Male candidates, maximum age of 35 years.
- Minimum education: SMK (Technical Computer Networking) or equivalent; a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or Electrical Engineering is preferred (minimum GPA 3.00).
- At least 1 year of hands‑on experience in network installation, fiber optics, or ISP service delivery.
- Valid driving license (SIM A) is highly desirable.
- Solid knowledge of fiber optic technology, FTTH architecture, and common ISP equipment (e.g., ONTs, routers, access points).
- Strong technical troubleshooting skills, with the ability to interpret schematics, test results, and network logs.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to explain technical concepts to non‑technical customers.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and adhere to scheduled service windows.
- Physical ability to handle equipment installation, including climbing ladders and carrying up to 20 kg of gear.
