Introduction
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Barista to join our fast‑growing coffee‑shop chain in the Batam metropolitan area. Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve high‑quality espresso‑based drinks, brewed coffee, tea, and specialty beverages according to company recipes and customer preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the coffee bar, equipment, and seating areas in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Operate and troubleshoot point‑of‑sale (POS) systems, handle cash transactions, and ensure accurate order entry.
- Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and consumables; place orders and receive deliveries while minimizing waste.
- Educate customers on beverage options, recommend pairings, and address any special dietary requests.
- Conduct routine equipment maintenance, including grinder calibration, espresso machine cleaning, and daily back‑flushing.
- Assist in opening and closing procedures, including cash reconciliation, stock counts, and securing the premises.
- Participate in regular training sessions to stay up‑to‑date with new drink trends, brewing techniques, and company standards.
- Collaborate with teammates to ensure smooth workflow during peak periods and to foster a supportive workplace culture.
- Provide feedback to management on menu development, customer preferences, and operational improvements.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent.
- Age: 25 years or younger; unmarried and not currently enrolled in a college program.
- At least 1 year of proven experience in the Food & Beverage (F&B) sector, preferably in a coffee‑shop or café setting.
- Strong communication and customer‑service skills; ability to engage politely with a diverse clientele.
- Proficiency in operating POS/cash register systems.
- Demonstrated reliability, honesty, discipline, and a proactive attitude.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team; flexibility to adapt to shifting schedules.
- Own reliable transportation for commuting to the Batam location.
- Willingness to attend mandatory training programs and adhere to all company policies and safety standards.
