We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Data Analyst – Business Insights & Reporting to join our fast‑growing retail operation in Samarinda. The role focuses on turning raw sales and inventory data into actionable insights that drive optimal stock levels, improve forecast accuracy, and support strategic decision‑making across the Warehouse, Purchasing, and Operations teams. The ideal candidate is a detail‑oriented analytical thinker with at least two years of experience in retail analytics, a solid educational background in statistics, economics, information technology, or a related field, and the ability to communicate complex findings clearly to cross‑functional stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute stock planning analyses using historical sales data, demand trends, and operational constraints.
- Develop and maintain periodic forecasting models to predict product requirements and ensure balanced inventory levels across warehouses and retail outlets.
- Continuously monitor the variance between system‑recorded stock and physical counts, identifying discrepancies and initiating corrective actions.
- Perform comparative studies of stock versus sales performance, delivering concise reports that inform operational adjustments and promotional strategies.
- Collaborate closely with field teams, Warehouse personnel, and internal divisions (e.g., Purchasing, Finance) to streamline stock flow and reduce lead times.
- Provide data‑driven purchasing recommendations that align with demand forecasts, supplier capacities, and budgetary limits.
- Create comprehensive stock reports and dashboards using Microsoft Excel, advanced pivot tables, and the company’s inventory management system.
- Support ad‑hoc market research initiatives, competitor benchmarking, and scenario planning to anticipate emerging retail trends.
- Train junior analysts and business users on best practices for data handling, report generation, and interpretation of analytical results.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (S1) in Statistics, Management, Information Technology, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Maximum age of 38 years; open to all genders.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an analyst within a retail or consumer‑goods environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (advanced formulas, macros, Power Query, and data visualization).
- Strong analytical mindset with proven ability to conduct market research, trend analysis, and data validation.
- Exceptional attention to detail; comfortable working with large data sets and performing numeric calculations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present findings to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Demonstrated teamwork and coordination abilities across multiple departments.
