Introduction
We are seeking a motivated Field Collector to join our Batam Site Operations team. In this role, you will be the frontline representative of our collections department, engaging directly with customers to recover outstanding payments while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and courtesy. The position offers a dynamic work environment where you will navigate the vibrant streets of Batam, build relationships with local clients, and contribute to the financial health of our organization.
Responsibilities
- Conduct on‑site debt collection visits to residential and commercial customers within the assigned Batam area.
- Negotiate repayment plans, explain billing details, and resolve disputes to secure timely payments.
- Collect cash, checks, or electronic payment confirmations and ensure accurate documentation of each transaction.
- Prepare and submit daily visit reports, including status updates, payment received, and any follow‑up actions required.
- Achieve or exceed individual collection targets and contribute to the overall performance of the collections team.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of company policies, legal regulations, and ethical standards related to debt recovery.
- Identify and report any potential fraud or irregularities observed during field activities.
- Assist in mapping and updating the geographic coverage area to improve route efficiency.
- Collaborate with internal departments such as Customer Service, Finance, and Legal to ensure a seamless collection process.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of experience in collections; 2 years preferred, especially in a field‑based role.
- Valid Indonesian driver’s license (SIM C) and ownership of a reliable two‑wheel vehicle.
- Thorough familiarity with the Batam metropolitan area and its neighborhoods.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to handle difficult conversations calmly.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications for reporting (e.g., MS Excel, Google Sheets).
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
