Introduction

We are seeking a proactive Remedial Collection Officer to join our dynamic credit recovery team. This role is critical in safeguarding the financial health of our portfolio by managing overdue accounts, conducting field collections, and implementing effective restructuring solutions. The successful candidate will operate primarily in the Masamba area, working closely with internal stakeholders to achieve the company’s Non‑Performing Loan (NPL) reduction targets while maintaining respectful relationships with borrowers.

Responsibilities

  • Handle and resolve overdue accounts according to predefined bucket classifications, ensuring compliance with internal SOPs and legal regulations.
  • Conduct on‑site visits (field collection) to borrowers’ residences or workplaces, employing negotiation techniques to secure timely payments.
  • Achieve monthly and quarterly NPL reduction goals and collection targets set by senior management.
  • Analyze the root causes of payment delays, prepare tailored restructuring proposals, and present them in line with company policy.
  • Maintain professional, courteous relationships with debtors to encourage commitment and repayment.
  • Monitor and follow up on “Promise to Pay” agreements, updating status in the credit management system.
  • Prepare daily and weekly collection reports that detail progress, challenges, and actionable insights for the team.
  • Collaborate with Credit Analysts, Sales Representatives, and the Head of Collection to share debtor insights and coordinate recovery strategies.
  • Execute repossession procedures for secured assets when necessary, following strict procedural and legal guidelines.
  • Continuously assess the effectiveness of collection tactics, recommending process improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance.

Requirements

  • Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent; D3/S1 (any major) strongly preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience in collection, remedial, or field collection, preferably within a multifinance or banking environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of credit‑risk assessment, negotiation, and repayment analysis.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to influence and persuade.
  • Strong analytical mindset to identify delinquency patterns and propose viable solutions.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet strict targets, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Willingness to work in the field on a mobile basis; personal vehicle and a valid SIM C are required.
  • In‑depth knowledge of the Masamba region, including local routes and community dynamics.
  • Personal attributes: honesty, firmness, discipline, and a high sense of responsibility.
  • Availability to work Monday‑Saturday, 08:00 – 17:00.
