Introduction
We are seeking a dynamic and results‑driven Sales Specialist – Besi Baja Import Export to join our fast‑growing steel trading division. The role focuses on the sale of high‑quality wear plates, SS400 structural steel, and marine plates (Plat Kapal) to industrial clients across Indonesia and the broader ASEAN market. As the frontline of our B2B sales engine, you will be responsible for generating new business, nurturing key accounts, and ensuring seamless execution of international trade transactions.
The successful candidate will work Monday through Saturday, 08:30 – 17:30, and will be supported by a competitive compensation package, professional development opportunities, and a modern operational fleet.
Responsibilities
- Identify, prospect, and acquire new customers in the construction, shipbuilding, and heavy‑industry sectors.
- Manage and grow existing key accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and quotations, leveraging technical knowledge of wear plates, SS400, and marine steel specifications.
- Negotiate contract terms, pricing, and payment conditions, including Letters of Credit (L/C) and other Incoterms 2020 provisions.
- Coordinate with logistics, customs, and finance teams to guarantee timely shipment, accurate documentation, and compliance with import‑export regulations.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and price fluctuations to propose strategic pricing and promotional initiatives.
- Maintain an up‑to‑date CRM database, track sales pipelines, and produce regular performance reports for senior management.
- Participate in trade shows, industry seminars, and networking events to enhance brand visibility and uncover new opportunities.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality‑control departments to address technical queries and ensure product specifications meet client requirements.
- Provide after‑sales support, resolve disputes, and facilitate warranty or return processes when necessary.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in Business, International Trade, Engineering, or related field is highly preferred.
- At least 3 years of proven experience in the steel industry or manufacturing sector, with a strong B2B sales record.
- Hands‑on experience with imported steel products and familiarity with trading/distribution business models.
- Deep understanding of Incoterms 2020, Letters of Credit (L/C), and international shipping procedures.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is mandatory; proficiency in Mandarin or additional languages is a significant advantage.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills; ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced market.
- Technical knowledge of steel structures, wear plate applications, and marine steel standards.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and CRM/database tools.
- Age up to 39 years; gender: open to all candidates.
- Strong leadership potential, strategic thinking, and a customer‑oriented mindset.
