Introduction
We are seeking a motivated Senior Kitchen Staff to join the operational team of Eat My Oh‑Dough, a vibrant café located on Jalan Lintas Sumatra Ringroad, Komplek OCBC No. B65, Medan, North Sumatra. This full‑time role focuses on overseeing kitchen activities, ensuring high‑quality food preparation, and maintaining rigorous hygiene standards. The position offers a dynamic, fast‑paced environment with three‑shift coverage (08:00‑22:00) and a one‑day‑off per week schedule.
Responsibilities
- Study and master the café’s menu, product line, and overall F&B concepts to provide knowledgeable support to the team.
- Prepare, cook, and plate menu items while adhering to standardized recipes and portion controls.
- Maintain a spotless production area, including regular cleaning of workstations, equipment, and storage spaces.
- Follow and enforce all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and system protocols to maximize efficiency and safety.
- Coordinate with front‑of‑house staff to ensure seamless order flow and timely service.
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with stock rotation, and report any shortages or waste issues.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and disciplined work culture.
- Respond effectively to high‑pressure situations, such as peak service periods or unexpected equipment failures.
- Participate in menu development sessions, offering innovative ideas for new dishes and improvements.
- Conduct routine equipment checks and coordinate maintenance to prevent downtime.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent.
- Age between 18‑30 years; preferably 18‑25 for optimal fit.
- Both male and female candidates are welcome.
- At least 1 year of hands‑on experience in the F&B industry, especially in kitchen operations.
- Strong communication skills, courteous demeanor, and professional etiquette.
- Demonstrated discipline, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and under pressure.
- Passion for food and beverage, with a particular interest in kitchen dynamics.
- Neat, presentable appearance and strict adherence to personal hygiene.
- Residency in Medan is required; applicants must not be concurrently enrolled in school or employed elsewhere.
- Own reliable transportation for commuting.
- Willingness to sign a 7‑month contract; the company does not provide housing or mess facilities.
- Technical skills: Japanese, Chinese, and traditional cuisine preparation; dessert plating; food safety and halal compliance; operation and maintenance of kitchen equipment; international food presentation.
- Preparedness to submit the following documents for interview: application letter, two passport‑size photos, copies of KTP, latest diploma, family card, and an updated CV.
