Introduction
We are seeking a dedicated Supervisor Rigger – Pengawas Kegiatan Pengangkatan to join our dynamic team in Batam, Riau Island. This pivotal role oversees all rigging and lifting operations, ensuring that heavy‑equipment handling is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with local regulations and international best practices. The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in civil engineering principles, hands‑on rigging experience, and the ability to lead crews in a fast‑paced construction environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise all rigging and lifting activities for construction projects, ensuring alignment with project schedules and safety standards.
- Conduct pre‑lift meetings, risk assessments, and method statements, clearly communicating procedures to crew members and site supervisors.
- Inspect rigging equipment—including slings, shackles, hoists, and cranes—before each use, verifying certification and condition to prevent failures.
- Supervise riggers and lift operators, providing on‑site coaching, performance feedback, and immediate corrective actions when unsafe practices are observed.
- Collaborate with project engineers, site managers, and subcontractors to integrate rigging plans with overall construction sequencing.
- Maintain accurate documentation of lift logs, equipment inspections, incident reports, and compliance records for audit purposes.
- Ensure compliance with Indonesian occupational safety regulations, ISO 45001 standards, and any client‑specific safety protocols.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, recommend new rigging technologies, and assist in the procurement of specialized lifting gear.
- Provide emergency response support during lift incidents, coordinating with medical teams and conducting post‑incident investigations.
- Manage daily work schedules for a crew of riggers, ensuring proper allocation of resources and adherence to labor regulations.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent; technical background in civil engineering is highly preferred.
- Age: No maximum limit, but candidates must be physically capable of performing field supervision duties.
- Gender: Open to all genders.
- Experience: At least 0‑2 years of relevant rigging or lifting supervision experience; proven track record in similar roles is advantageous.
- Certifications: Valid rigging and lifting certifications (e.g., Rigger Certified, Crane Operator License, or equivalent) are required.
- Location: Preferably domiciled in Batam, Riau Island, or willing to relocate promptly.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of civil engineering concepts, load calculations, and rigging equipment specifications.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, problem‑solving abilities, and a strong safety‑first mindset.
- Availability: Ready to join the team as soon as possible and work the standard schedule of Monday to Saturday, 08:00 – 17:00.
