Introduction
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Programmer Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team within the sheet‑metal manufacturing sector. Responsibilities
- Prepare and prioritize order lists for input into nesting software, ensuring accurate sequencing based on production schedules.
- Interpret and refine technical drawings to create optimized nesting programs that maximize material utilization and minimize waste.
- Develop, test, and maintain nesting programs tailored to the specific needs of each production run.
- Conduct thorough inspections of finished parts to verify dimensional accuracy, surface quality, and compliance with engineering specifications.
- Compile, organize, and distribute engineering documentation, including work orders, inspection reports, and revision logs.
- Collaborate closely with production operators, providing technical guidance and troubleshooting support to resolve any issues that arise on the shop floor.
- Maintain up‑to‑date records in Microsoft Excel and Word, ensuring data integrity for inventory tracking, cost analysis, and reporting.
- Participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives, suggesting process enhancements that increase efficiency, reduce lead times, and improve overall product quality.
- Assist in training junior staff and new hires on the use of AutoCAD, nesting software, and best practices for engineering documentation.
- Adapt to shifting priorities and tight deadlines while maintaining meticulous attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Requirements
- Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree (S1) in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field; SMK/D3 qualifications are also acceptable for strong candidates.
- At least 1 year of experience in the sheet‑metal industry or a closely related manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for creating and modifying detailed engineering drawings.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office, especially Excel for data management and Word for documentation.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and a methodical approach to administrative tasks.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new software tools quickly and to operate effectively under pressure.
