Introduction
SPX Express, a leading logistics provider operating throughout Indonesia, is seeking a dynamic Shift Lead Center for its Sortation Center (SOC) located in Kabupaten Jember, Jawa Timur. The successful candidate will be the operational backbone of the daily inbound‑to‑outbound workflow, ensuring that parcels are sorted, bagged, re‑processed, and dispatched efficiently while adhering to the highest safety and quality standards. This role reports directly to the Operations Manager and works closely with warehouse supervisors, transportation coordinators, and the corporate support team.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the daily operations of the Sortation Center, overseeing inbound receiving, sorting, bagging, re‑processing, and outbound dispatch processes.
- Ensure that all activities comply with established SOPs, safety regulations, and quality benchmarks, conducting spot checks and corrective actions as needed.
- Develop and adjust manpower plans in response to fluctuating daily volumes, coordinating shift schedules, overtime, and temporary staffing requirements.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as throughput, accuracy, equipment utilization, and on‑time delivery, presenting concise reports to senior management.
- Lead daily briefings with the team, communicating performance results, operational challenges, and the implementation of the 5S workplace organization methodology.
- Collaborate with maintenance crews to schedule equipment inspections, preventive maintenance, and rapid troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
- Identify process improvement opportunities, propose automation or layout changes, and champion continuous‑improvement initiatives across the center.
- Foster a culture of safety by conducting regular safety drills, enforcing proper personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, and reporting incidents promptly.
- Maintain accurate documentation of inventory movements, shift logs, and compliance records for audit purposes.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback to supervisors and frontline staff, developing future leaders within the warehouse.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent; Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in any field is preferred.
- At least 2 years of logistics experience, with a minimum of 1 year in a Warehouse Supervisor or Head of Warehouse role.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast‑paced, shift‑based environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex operational data clearly.
- Proven experience in manpower planning, KPI monitoring, and implementation of 5S or other lean methodologies.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts (including weekends) and to be based in Kabupaten Jember, Jawa Timur.
