Introduction

We are seeking a motivated Assistant Chef (Asisten Koki) to join our vibrant kitchen team in Bali. This full‑time position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about home‑style cooking and eager to develop their culinary skills in a dynamic hospitality environment. The successful candidate will work six days a week, from Monday to Saturday, with daily hours from 08:00 to 17:00.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the head chef in preparing and cooking a variety of traditional Indonesian and Western home‑cooked dishes.
  • Perform ingredient mise en place, including washing, chopping, marinating, and portioning.
  • Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene by following proper storage, handling, and cleaning procedures.
  • Support the kitchen team during peak service periods, ensuring timely delivery of meals.
  • Monitor inventory levels, report low stock, and help with receiving and organizing deliveries.
  • Participate in daily kitchen briefings, sharing ideas for menu improvements and operational efficiency.
  • Assist in plating and garnishing dishes to meet presentation standards.
  • Carry out routine cleaning of workstations, equipment, and the dining area after service.
  • Continuously learn new recipes, cooking techniques, and kitchen technologies under the guidance of senior chefs.
  • Collaborate effectively with front‑of‑house staff to ensure seamless guest experiences.

Requirements

  • Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent (diploma in culinary arts is a plus).
  • Age: Open to all ages; candidates must be legally able to work full‑time.
  • Gender: All genders are welcome.
  • Experience: No prior professional experience required; however, any background in home cooking or kitchen assistance is advantageous.
  • Residency: Must be domiciled in Bali and not currently enrolled in school or university.
  • Key skills: Basic cooking techniques, ability to follow recipes accurately, and a genuine enthusiasm for food preparation.
  • Personal attributes: Discipline, strong communication, honesty, eagerness to learn, and a team‑oriented mindset.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights in a fast‑paced environment.
