Kafe Umalas, a boutique coffee destination located in the heart of Bali’s vibrant Umalas district, is seeking a dedicated Barista Profesional to join our dynamic team. Our café prides itself on serving expertly crafted espresso drinks, locally sourced pastries, and providing a welcoming atmosphere for both residents and tourists. As a Barista at Kafe Umalas, you will be the face of the café, delivering exceptional service while upholding our high standards of quality and consistency.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages—including espresso, cappuccino, latte, pour‑over, and cold brew—using state‑of‑the‑art equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Manage inventory of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other consumables, notifying management of low stock levels.
- Engage with customers in a friendly, communicative manner, answering questions about menu items and offering personalized recommendations.
- Process cash and card transactions accurately, and balance the register at the end of each shift.
- Collaborate with fellow team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours and special events.
- Handle high‑pressure situations calmly, especially during busy mornings and weekend brunch rushes.
- Continuously develop coffee knowledge through training sessions, tastings, and staying current with industry trends.
- Assist in opening and closing duties, including equipment cleaning, stock rotation, and preparing the café for the next day.
Requirements
- Minimum education: High School Diploma (SMA/SMK) or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of proven experience as a barista in a fast‑paced café or restaurant environment.
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Honesty, reliability, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Capacity to thrive under pressure and meet tight service timelines.
